Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy 2026: The Selective IGF-1 Fusion Protein Scp776 Targets Apoptotic Cells and Promotes Recovery of Ischemia / Reperfusion Injured Tissues

This paper follows Scp776 from protein engineering through to efficacy in cell and animal models of stroke and heart attack. In a nonhuman primate model of stroke, scp776 reduced brain lesion volume and neurological deficits and improved survival. In rodent and pig models of heart attack, it reduced infarct size, highlighting its potential beyond stroke.
